Uses of metal detectors and metal separators

Metal detectors machine is used to detect metal impurities mixed in the production process of plastics, chemicals, food, medicine, cosmetics, textiles, etc.;

The metal separator separates these metal impurities from raw materials or recycled materials. It is mostly used in plastic recycled materials. Because the plastic nozzle material will be mixed with some metal fragments or particles after being processed by the crusher. Designed and manufactured to prevent blockage in offline production.

  How to separate plastic and metal?

  1. Metal catcher

   The crushed waste is transported through the pipeline, and the metal scraps with a diameter of 0.75---1.2MM are separated during the transporting process using a metal trap.

  2. Electrostatic separator

  Crush the mixed materials and put them into an electrostatic separator. Using the different charging characteristics of metals and plastics, copper, aluminum and other metals can be separated. This method is suitable for the treatment of metal-filled composite materials, cable materials and metal-plated plastics.

  3. Dissolution and separation

   Immerse the metal parts coated with plastic coating in a suspension containing methylene chloride, non-ionic surfactant, paraffin wax and water to dissolve and separate the plastic coating.

  4. Embrittlement separation

   The mixed waste of metal and plastic is cooled to the embrittlement temperature of the plastic, and then crushed, and then the metal and plastic are separated by the air sieve separation method.

   5. Stripping of the cable sheath

The sheath materials of wires and cables mainly include polyvinyl chloride, polyethylene (including cross-linked polyethylene), synthetic rubber and natural rubber. In addition to the electrostatic separation method described above, there are two methods of dry and warm methods to make plastic and rubber It is effectively separated from copper and aluminum core wires.

   (1) Dry separation: Use far-infrared device to uniformly heat the inside of the cable, and then manually peel off the outer skin.

   (2) Wet separation: immerse the aluminum wire in a penetrating agent (surfactant) solution, heat it to 70-90 degrees, peel off the skin, and then wash it several times with an organic solvent to completely remove the tar.
